Marbella continues to improve its coastal infrastructure with a project designed to enhance accessibility, safety and the overall appearance of its seafront promenade.
The renovation of the staircase connecting Calle Velázquez to the Paseo Marítimo includes wider steps, new paving and decorative ceramic tiles inspired by the Mediterranean Sea. The project was reported to be 80% complete in September, with completion expected by the end of that month.
The improvements form part of Marbella’s broader commitment to creating a continuous coastal pathway along its 27 kilometres of coastline, making the seafront more accessible and enjoyable for residents and visitors.
Further investment is also planned in Los Monteros, where a new 260-metre section of the Senda Litoral will feature a wooden walkway, pedestrian bridge, improved lighting and landscaped surroundings. With a budget exceeding €1 million, the project will also support the ecological restoration of the La Adelfa dune.
These initiatives reflect Marbella’s continued investment in public spaces, coastal connectivity and environmental preservation, further enhancing the lifestyle appeal of the Costa del Sol.
